Songs, histories, photos and credits for bands including Just Boys, Pinups, True Hearts and New Movies are here, as well as for Terry's many years as a solo artist and his recent move into the respected and acclaimed pop-rock group, Blue Cartoon. Terry's music is engaging, introspective and memorable. With a knack for hooks, a penchant for lyrics, and a vocal range that can keep up with his diverse songwriting, Terry has always sought to write songs as good as those who have inspired him. A few years ago I mentioned a band called The Skies Of America and their song "Fascination" (see below). Founder Rob Bonfiglio released a solo album this year (2009) titled "Bring On The Happy". Rob intorduced it to me as a DIY (do it yourself) album. I was blown away when I got it. It is a great pop/pop-rock album. The production is full, but very organic and very well done. While it is far from derivative, there are reminders of McCartney circa Ram, Rundgren circa Something Anything, Rick Springfield circa Wait For Night, and Eric Carmen circa Eric Carmen. Still, the album is very much Rob Bonfiglio and I have enjoyed it immensely. This is the best overall pop album I've heard in quite a while. It is available and I highly recommend buying it. True Hearts recordings remastered Early this year I got an inquiry about the unreleased True Hearts recordings. It brought my focus back to my ongoing, long running project of restoring and remastering all my old recordings. I had completed some of the songs a few years ago, but have now completed all the True Hearts recordings. Of particular significance to me was the original album recorded while the band was still called The Flirt. Four songs had been pulled from the album and released in 1980 as an EP under the newly adopted name of True Hearts. The rest have remained unreleased. It was nice, after thirty years, to hear the original Flirt album as it was originally intended. Blue Cartoon - "If I Could Do It All Over Again" Blue Cartoon has just completed the recording of "If I Could Do It All Over Again" for the 2010 International Pop Overthrow album. The song was written by bandmember Lee Elliott and really highlights a change in sound for the new Blue Cartoon. Underway are three other songs; "Success" by Jeff Tracy, "I Should Have Known" by Dave Loren and "Only Love" by Terry Carolan. Either two, or all, of these tunes are intended for a digital release this summer followed by the release of the currently untitled fifth Blue Cartoon album, scheduled for release later this year.
