While hooks, harmonies and choruses abound, "Flights Of Fancy" draws the listener in to a generally more sophisticated pop-rock experience. Lyrical paintings and musical soundscapes lead to a look behind the veil, but ultimately to a world we all understand; The world inside, where we explore our deepest thoughts and questions. Circus Of Mirth (mp3 at 320)

Heirs Of Fortune

The Circus Of Mirth album is the result of the coincidental reunion of members from two of Tampa's foremost pop-rock bands from the Seventies; Amnesia and Just Boys. The Circus Of Mirth album is the result of the coincidental reunion of members from two of Tampa's foremost pop-rock bands from the Seventies; Amnesia and Just Boys. Reuniting in 2016 as Heirs Of Fortune, Terry Carolan, Ralph Smith, Robert Woodrich and Robert Watkins decided to create an album acknowledging, referencing and celebrating their collective background. Most especially, memorializing their common friend, supporter, sometimes benefactor and occasional quasi-manager, Gary Littleton, who passed away in 2008.

Circus Of Mirth finds Heirs Of Fortune subtly celebrating their shared remembrances, and their appreciation of their friend, with smart pop-rock songs for all ages. Thoughtful and mature lyrics wrap around pop conscious chord progressions, with soaring harmonies weaving in and out. In addition to the compositions from Smith, Carolan and Woodrich, there's "Invited", which is a previously unreleased 1974 Amnesia recording, an excerpt from "If I Could Do It All Over Again", from a 2010 release from the band Blue Cartoon, and "I Am The Cosmos" from Seventies cult icon, Chris Bell, of the venerated power-pop band Big Star. Ladies and gentlemen... step right up. It's a veritable Circus Of Mirth!

Inbalance and River Of Promises, Remastered

Terry Carolan

Originally intended for Carolans' first solo album, the recording of the songs spanned more than a year and they were eventually released as two cassette EP's; "Inbalance", issued in 1988 and "River Of Promises" issued in 1989. Originally intended for Carolans' first solo album, the recording of the songs spanned more than a year and they were eventually released as two cassette EP's; "Inbalance", issued in 1988 and "River Of Promises" issued in 1989. The decision was partially driven by the extended time spent recording and the desire to get something released. But the extended time also made the two batches of songs different enough to seem less cohesive as an album, and more appropriate as two EP's.

While doing little to further Terry's efforts in the States, the EP's were well received in Europe, particularly England, Scotland, Belgium and Italy.

This album highlights the more rock-ish side of Terry's songwriting and combines both EP's. All songs are remastered and punchier than was possible on the original cassettes.
